The Wish Heart Fund, in support of MacKids
(a branch of Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation),
is dedicated to supporting children fighting cancer at
McMaster Children's Hospital.
By purchasing items of quality and care for pediatric oncology families, we bring comfort and spread joy in honour of
Baby Jack Wishart.

Our goal is to bring as much joy as we can to children fighting cancer. Our fund is entirely volunteer run and
100% of your donations go towards purchases for the oncology wards at McMaster Children's Hospital.
Since we began in 2020 we have raised OVER $300,000!!!

SUPER HERO DAYS 2026!!!
Jack was nicknamed Super Jack because he would fly like a superhero in his jolly jumper!
Schools and workplaces are invited to hold Superhero Days to raise money and awareness for children fighting cancer.
Dress up like your favourite hero, donate a loonie or a toonie and have tons of fun!

Together We Can Do Great ThingsOur family lived in the hospital with Jack for seven months while he fought cancer. During that time we gained a lot of insight as to how we could make things better for families in similar situations. After we lost Jack, we decided to to continue the fight. Alone we cannot do much. but together, we have accomplished so many things - all in honour of our sweet baby and the joy he brought to others. Together, we can do great things. |
Together We Can Bring JoyYour donations are used to maintain two Slush Puppie machines for patients to have a cool treat and to prevent mouth sores (cryotherapy) during treatments. These are a huge hit and everyone loves them! |

Together We Can Bring ComfortIn 2024 we purchased 200 thermometers for outpatient oncology families, two new CADD pumps so patients can go home to receive immunotherapy, and Gus Gear vests. Your donations also provided gift cards for families to buy essential items and gifts. |
Together We Can Spread HappinessTwice a year (in December and July) we gather toys to replenish the Treat Bins throughout McMaster Children's Hospital. When patients go for tests or treatments, they get to pick a toy from the Treat Bins! |
